More than £70,000 was donated by the Trust in 2018 with grants ranging from £750 to £25,000.
2018 saw the RBLI Lifeworks for Families project receive its third annual payment of £25,000; Aggie's Storybook Waves received their second of three payments of £14,815 in support of their new Book Club initiative for naval families which is now sucessfully up and running at 21 naval community houses up and down the UK.
SSAFA received £6,000 for their Short Breaks - weekend breaks for military families with a child with a disability or special need. Our donation covered the cost of attendance for 40 families on the breaks in March and November at the Calvert Trust, Exmoor.
The Trust and Annington donated more than £14,000 to Royal Marines Tadpoles Nursery, Poole which enabled the Nursery to make much-needed improvements to their outdoor space - and resulted in them being assessed as 'Good' by OFSTED in January 2019.
Support was also given to ABC Nursery in Aldergrove, Co Antrim. The nursery provides childcare to 59 Service children and was awarded £6,141.79 to buy new equipment and resources for the outdoor play space.
The children at RNAS Yeovilton were provided with the opportunity to take part in a week-long King's Camp at the base to which The Trust donated £7,200. Children at RAF Henlow helped open the brand new 'Trim Trail' paid for by the Trust and those at RAF Shawbury enjoyed a day trip to Sea Life in Birmingham with coach hire and lunch paid for by the Trust.
RAF Benson, RAF Digby, RAF St Mawgan, RAF Boulmer and RAF Brize Norton were amongst a number of RAF stations that successfully applied for funding for their Family Days, Service Days or Families Week.
