ABC Day Nursery provides care for children aged 0-11 years and is a key service providing education and welfare support to children and families of service personnel who live at the military base in Aldergrove, Co Antrim.
Currently 68 children attend the nursery, 59 of which are from Service families. The Nursery provides a vital service within the confines of the station as it is the only childcare service for five miles.
The Trust's donation of £6,141.79 allowed the team to purchase much needed play equipment for the under-utilised outdoor space including a Mud Kitchen and a Builder's Shed.
Parents are thrilled with the new equipment:
"The children are having great fun"
"Great areas, especially for imaginative play."
"Lovely to see them outdoors in the fresh air."
Sandra Philp, Nursery Manager explains the impact of the donation. "The development of our outdoor areas will benefit all the families living on Aldergrove Station and the wider community. It will have an impact on the quality of learning and development for the children currently using the Nursery and those who will use our service in the future. A big thank you from all the children, parents and staff at ABC Day Nursery."
