Military spouses and partners can be at a disadvantage when seeking employment as frequent moves can result in gaps in CVs and a disjointed work history.
Recent Tri-Service research conducted by Warwick Institute for Employment Research resulted in a key recommendation - the need to create a central portal for employment and training opportunities for military spouses and family members.
The Army Families Federation (AFF) in conjunction with Defence Relationship Management (DRM), the RAF Families Federation (Caroline Woodward, Communications Manager pictured) and the Naval Families Federation are working together to create an employment and training platform for family members of current UK Armed Forces military personnel - Forces Families Jobs.
The aim of the FFJ is to create a 'one-stop-shop' where family members can apply for Forces friendly jobs with employers who have signed the Armed Forces Covenant as well as find information on other career and training opportunities unique to Forces families.
The website launches on 17 September 2019.
