The grant helped the RAF Benevolent Fund deliver the refurbishment of all four play parks on RAF Valley, offering much-needed, renewed recreation facilities to the families on the base.
The location of the Station, on the Isle of Anglesey in Wales, its close proximity to the sea and the weather conditions have proved unkind to the play equipment. The upgrade of all four play parks has been on RAF Valley's on-going top 10 welfare funding requirements list to the RAF (via the annual Community Needs Analysis), since 2015.
The refurbished play parks will be enjoyed by around 200 children of the Serving couples at RAF Valley. Additionally all children of the 1,000+ civil servants and contractors on the base will benefit from full access to the play parks.
