With membership increasing at RAF Henlow's Youth Club and Ben Club, development of the Airplay Play Park in the Oval was identified as a real need.
Recognising that existing playground equipment was targeted at young children, the Base approached the Trust for support towards the cost of installing equipment suitable for youngsters up to 14.
The Trim Trail was officially opened by Air Commodore Clifford, Force Protection Commander. Year 3 children from Derwent Lower School were on hand to christen the Trail!
In a letter of thanks to the Trust, Warrant Officer Sarah Tuckwell, Service Community Support Officer said "The support provided by external agencies such as you, to fund initiatives that improve the quality of life for those living and serving in and around RAF Henlow is very much apprecited, especially as the unit has been selected for closure; your award is a clear demonstration to our personnel and dependants that the wellbeing of our community is still worth investing in."
