RM Poole has its own military nursery situated within its newly built community centre in Poole. The nursery provides care for 68 families, employs 12 members of staff and operates for 7.5 hours a day. Its first OFSTED inspection highlighted several areas that Required Attention, the most pressing of which was the outdoor garden and play space.
The Annington Trust donated £4,174.35 and Annington made an additional award of £10,000 which allowed the nursery to make significant improvements to their garden, including the installation of an outside shelter.
In January 2019, OFSTED returned and the improvements made by the nursery were recognised, with it achieving 'Good'.
The Annington Trust received the following email from the Community Centre Manager, Kerry Haberfield:
"As you know we had OFSTED last year and you very kindly offered us support in our garen project.
Through much in-house training, external training and improvements to resources; the team and nursery has had a big uplift. We had our OFSTED inspection on the 3rd day back at work this year; we have now received our official report back and I am delighted to inform you that we have achieved Good! I am so proud of the team and what they have achieved.
I would like to say another thank you. Without your help and support we wouldn't have been able to achieve this.
Thank you again. You are always welcome here at Poole."
